Recognizing the need to provide high quality after-sales service, I & K ENGINEERING provides full maintenance and testing services for medium voltage substations constructed by I & K as well as by other manufacturers.
Testing and maintenance of the above equipment includes the following tasks:
Power Transformers:
• Cleaning, check for cracks, insulators’ check
• Terminal check (MV & LV) - firming, cleaning
• Oil temperature check (for oil transformers), TAP position
• Indicator cleaning, leakage & oil level check (for oil transformers)
• Oil filling of the transformer (if required)
• Oil sampling to measure the dielectric strength, collection and analysis on site (for oil transformers)
• Replacement of the SILICA GEL dehumidifier (if required)
• Check- testing of the BUCHHOLZ relay and transformer thermometer, check of the auxiliary relay trip and siren
• Lighting check of the space
• Ventilation and transformer’s fan check (if applicable)
• Earthing continuity check, earth resistance measurement
• Measurement of electrical resistance of transformer’s windings
• Measurement of insulation resistance of transformer’s windings
• Cleaning of the medium voltage space
Medium Voltage Switchboard:
• Cleaning, check for cracks, insulators’ check
• Check and testing of MV contactors and disconnectors
• Label check on-off
• Correct operation check of measurement indicators
• MV busbar check- terminal firming
• Check and cleaning of the electrical contacts of MV switches
• Check of the electrical and mechanical interlocks
• Door opening check
• Check of the coupling-decoupling of the earthing switch
• Wiring and auxiliary contacts check
• Measurement of insulation resistance
• Cleaning of the medium voltage space
Medium Voltage Cables:
• Medium Voltage Cable Check
• Terminal cleaning (entry, departure and transformer terminals)
Low Voltage General Switchboard:
• Cleaning and tightening of the low voltage terminals of the cables at the entrance of the switchboard
• Main LV switch check, regulation, shunt opening release, etc.
• Capacitor system check (if applicable)
• Switchboard ventilation check and space lighting check
• Thermography, identifying deficiencies in tightening and in materials
Routine Tests-Optional:
• Dielectric strength testing at 50kV (50Hz / 1 min)
• Resistance measurement of switching elements
• Resistance measurement of transformer windings
• Measurement of insulation resistance of LV windings of the transformer at 2500-5000V
The maintenance is performed by skilled and experienced switchboard tradespersons with a wealth of knowledge in low and medium voltage switchboard design, and an understanding of the PPC standards and specifications. After completion, a detailed analysis report of the maintenance observations is sent to the customer. We also propose components and equipment that may need replacement.
